“Nothing gets done, it's like it's falling on deaf ears. There are many security issues that haven't been fixed. Many tenants have experienced being met with hostility when asking the office staff for things that should come under basic tenancy rights. Basically a "you don't like it, you can move" sort of attitude. There's a huge rat problem in the garbage area, one night recently I saw min 10-15 rats crawling out of the compost bin. It was gross, and they just kept coming. If you place out your garbage in the evening you will run into this. Rats are also quite a nuisance on the lower floors, with a few suites reporting massive rat problems although their suite is clean. The walls are super thin, you can hear your neighbours cough from across your room. There is no insulation in the walls. Construction just occurred. They replaced the sliding glass doors and windows, but only because the owner was forced to bring it up to code. They redid the concrete balcony, but for the most part that only meant adding more concrete to the spots that had chipped away in the 60 years since it was build, before finishing it off with a sealant. Basically it's like putting lipstick on a pig. There may be more construction in the future as she didn't do the membrane, so at some point, the back yard may need to be dug up to access the membrane above the underground parking. The owner fought tenants who wanted a rent reduction for living with the noise for 17 months, and tried having some of them evicted as well. Google Westsea and you'll understand what type of owner Julie is - she has multiple court proceedings against her.”
